As Season 4 of “Power” nears its end, we take a look back at some of the most shocking moments from this year. Warning: Major spoilers
Kanan Saving Tariq
We all thought Kanan was out for bloody vengeance once he started hanging out with Tariq, so we were quite surprised when he spared the kid and Ghost’s life and ended up killing one of his crew members instead. I mean, Kanan killed his own son so why would he even think twice about killing Tariq?
Tommy Has a Dad
For the past three seasons, Tommy thought his father was dead. Turns out that Tony Teresi, a mob kingpin who was locked up with James St. Patrick, was Tommy’s dad. Awww, so sweet.
Ghost Goes Crazy
The entire time Ghost was in jail, he was trying to maintain his cool, calm, calculated persona of James St. Patrick so he could beat his case. So you can imagine our surprise when he goes ape-sh*t on the prison guard (Charlie Murphy) and beats his head in with a weight. At the time, we all thought it was a dream, but nope. Ghost definitely smashed the prison guard’s head in.
Julio’s Death
If there’s anyone who is the epitome of loyalty, it was Julio (J.R. Ramirez). Unfortunately, he got set up by the devil Dre (Rotimi Akinosho) and was murdered by his former gang members. We’ll give it up to him though, Julio put up quite a fight.
Councilman Tate is Shady AF
OK, so by now we can’t be too surprised that most (all) characters on “Power” are sketch, but we really had hope for Councilman Tate (Larenz Tate). He really seemed to be genuine until he does a favor for James and in turn tells him to “take care of” Alphonse, one of the people from the hood. He’s pretty much trying to extort him.
Tariq Goes Rogue
I guess Kanan is a little manipulative devil, but Tariq did a complete 180. This kid turned to a life of crime that eventually ended up costing his sister’s life.
Raina’s Death
Why our sweet baby girl, Raina, had to die we’ll never know. She was literally the only truly innocent one left on the series and she was just killed off — no warning, no preparation, nothing. RIP.
