“Power” creator Courtney Kemp paid tribute to Pedro Jimenez, the crew member who was killed in an accident on the set of the Starz drama earlier this week.
“I have not known how to write this post; social media is an odd, impersonal place for grief, often an odd place to commemorate a life,” Kemp wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday. “A few sentences cannot address the love, humor, courage and strength of a man loved by so many. Pedro Jimenez was a beloved member of our crew and here since season one.”
Jimenez, a production assistant on the show, died after being hit by an SUV while setting up parking cones for a shoot in Brooklyn early Monday morning. Production on the show was temporarily suspended following the accident.
“This is a tragedy for the ‘Power’ family, and even more for Pedro’s family and friends, who must face the holidays and the coming cold months ahead without him,” Kemp’s post continued. “If you are a fan of @power_starz and have enjoyed our show, please know it takes hundreds of people to make the series that you enjoy. Pedro was one of those people. Pray for him and for his family. Tell your loved ones how you feel about them so they know for sure.”

“Power” was created by Courtney Kemp, who executive produces alongside 50 Cent, Mark Canton, Randall Emmett and Gary Lennon. The show is also produced by G-Unit Films and Television, the production company launched by 50 Cent, and Canton’s Atmosphere Entertainment MM.
The drama follows the Manhattan lifestyles of the rich and the infamous, as well as the world of international drug trade. Omari Hardwick leads the cast, with Joseph Sikora, Naturi Naughton and Lela Loren rounding it out.
