Post Malone’s Saturday night performance at St. Louis’ Enterprise Center was briefly stopped after the rapper fell onstage and collapsed in pain.
Malone shared a video to social media on Sunday, thanking fans for their support, in which he joked he “got my ass kicked by myself.”
He began by saying, “Thank you for the patience. Thank you for putting up with my dumbass.” He explained that the hole he tripped over was for the guitar used in the acoustic part of the show.
“It winded me pretty good,” he said, adding he had just returned from the hospital. Without mentioning initial witness reports that he had cracked or broken some ribs, Malone stated in the video, “Everything’s good, they gave me some pain meds and everything.”
He added, “We can keep kicking ass on the tour,” confirming he will still be performing in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday night at Nationwide Arena.
Malone promised that the next time he’s in St. Louis, he will have a two-hour show to make up for cutting his Saturday performance short.
Videos shared on social media show Malone stepping into a long, deep slot in the stage, his midsection slamming hard into the edge of the opening. He rolled onto his back, reeling in pain. Medics worked on him briefly on the spot as the shocked crowd awaited word of his condition.
“Post Malone made a few more die hard fans when he fell through a hole in the stage cracking 3 ribs. Fans said he came back out on stage after 10 minutes saying he was sorry & hurting so bad he was crying, then someone gave him a beer and he finished the concert,” wrote a fan named Marietta on Twitter, along with a video showing the fall.
Jake Barford shared a video from a different angle, and thought that the performer had broken three ribs. “Post Malone broke 3 ribs at his concert last night and still finished the show… What a legend!”
Reps for Malone did not immediately respond to TheWrap with more details about his condition.
