‘Porky’s’ Star Wyatt Knight Commits Suicide

The actor was in pain from cancer treatments and opted to take his own life, his wife says

Wyatt Knight, who starred as bad boy Tommy Turner in the "Porky's" trilogy, has died.

He was 56.

Knight was found dead in Hawaii last week and apparently committed suicide.

In a statement provided to TheWrap, Knight's wife Silvina said that the actor had a bone marrow transplant for stage 4 non-hodgkins lymphoma in 2003, which led to a difficult recovery process.

"He was tired of the pain, and after much contemplation, chose to end his life in a beautiful and a serene place," Silvana Knight said in a statement. "His family and friends are devastated. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be missed every day."

In addition to his prominent role in the hit 1980s sex comedies, Knight also appeared in television shows such as "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "T.J. Hooker," and "Chicago Hope."

In addition to Silvana, Knight is survived by  two children from a previous marriage.
