Regis Philbin won’t just be competing for a Daytime Emmy this year, he’ll also host the awards show.
Philbin announced his new gig on Monday’s "Live With Regis and Kelly." The program is up for three awards, including a nomination for "Outstanding Talk Show."
The big show will air at 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 27.
“I am delighted to host the Daytime Emmys this year. It’s going to be a great night with my daytime brothers and sisters, and I hope everyone wins an award this year," Philbin said in a statement.
Philbin won Emmys in 2001 for his work on "Live" and his hosting gig on ABC’s "Who Want’s to Be a Millionaire."
In 2008, he received a lifetime achievement award from the Daytime Emmys.
