From the “things you’ll still have a hard time explaining to your grandparents” file, right wing Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ) tweeted a video on Sunday evening that depicted him killing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and other prominent Democrats using repurposed footage from the anime “Attack on Titan.”

“Attack on Titan” follows the last surviving humans in a post apocalyptic world, who live in walled cities to defend themselves against giant humanoid monsters, called Tians.

Under the caption “Any anime fans out there?,” the clip shared by Gosar splices footage from the opening credits of the popular show with clips of Border Patrol agents and migrants crossing a river near the southern border of the U.S. The implication appearing to be that desperate, impoverished migrants pose a scary threat to people who carry automatic weapons.

In between, the words “drugs, crime, poverty, money, gangs, violence” and “trafficking” appear onscreen,

A fight sequence shows characters photoshopped with the faces of Gosar and colleagues Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) traipsing around a city, fighting characters photoshopped with the faces of prominent Democrats.

Gosar’s avatar then attacks a stand-in for Ocasio-Cortez, landing on her back and stabbing her with a sword. Afterward, he runs toward another monster with the face of President Joe Biden.

More footage of Border Patrol agents follows, intercut with images of politicians including Nancy Pelosi, Donald Trump, Matt Gaetz and Gosar with his feet up on a desk.

In August, the GOP politician’s siblings published an NBC op-ed slamming him for a long list of “unhinged behavior”: backing Trump’s election lies, “helping incite” the Jan. 6 insurrection and downplaying the severity of COVID-19, among others.

In February, he drew negative attention for speaking at the America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC), an alt-right conference hosted by white nationalist Nick Fuentes. He also has surrounded himself with undeniable holocaust deniers and white supremacists, though when criticized for his affiliations has specifically denied he is racist.

On Twitter, many users called for Gosar’s account to be suspended. See below for reactions from Gosar’s fellow politicians.
