Party Report: Andy Samberg Shakes Off ‘That’s My Boy’ at ‘Celeste and Jesse’ Premiere

Longtime friends Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg play romantic at the LA Film Festival as Matt LeBlanc reloads for season 2 of "Episodes"

“Celeste and Jesse Forever” had a high “Q-Score” at Sundance, where writer/star Rashida Jones, Andy Samberg, Emma Roberts, Elijah Wood, and Ari Graynor were ushered into all-they-can smile buffet of cast dinners, after-parties, and portraits.

On Thursday night at the L.A. Film Festival premiere, the big Q was Rashida’s dad, Quincy Jones.

“My parents are here,” Rashida Jones deflected, as an attendee pressed her for more details about an intimate scene gone awkward in a suite at the Chateau Marmont.

Indeed they were, as Quincy not only had two security guards shading his table at the intimate Russian Standard after-party, but also provided the VIP “lap.”

“Every time I see a movie with the blue Sony Pictures Classic logo before it, it’s a movie I want to see,” said co-writer/star Will McCormack. “So I’m psyched to see it (before our film),” he said. SPC bought the film at Sundance.

The backslapping and schmoozing capped a long week for Andy Samberg, who just finished a promotional tour for “That’s My Boy” that ended with a box office bummer last weekend.

By 10:45 P.M., Samberg was rolling out in one of the film festival Kias.

More “Episodes”

Showtime pulled a booking pun.

On “Episodes,” a fish-out-of-water British couple wrangles Matt LeBlanc, his ego, and industry politics as they reformat a hit foreign show for the U.S. Where else to host the Season 2 launch party? The London.

Lisa Kudrow joined “the real” Matt LeBlanc, whose series returns next Sunday, July 1.

Inside, the fake network executive (Kathleen Rose Perkins, right) spent time with the real network executive, Showtime CEO Matt Blank.
