For Paris Hilton, turns out it really is a small "World" after all.
The celebutante's new reality series, "The World According to Paris," debuted on Oxygen on Wednesday, and Us Magazine reports that a mere 409,000 viewers for its inaugural episode. That's a lukewarm reception at best, going by Oxygen standards — Oxygen's premiere of "The Bad Girls Club Miami" last August, by contrast, drew 1.3 million total viewers.

The series, which focuses on Hilton's various business ventures, promises a warts-and-all look at the hotel heiress' life, chronicling Hilton's interactions with her mother Kathy Hilton and Charlie Sheen's ex Brooke Mueller, along with other associates. At the NBC Universal Summer Press Day 2011 in April, Hilton sought to distinguish her latest venture into reality TV — following such offerings as "The Simple Life" and "Paris Hilton's My New BFF" — claiming, "This show like nothing I've ever done. On 'The Simple Life' I was playing a character…[now] I'm just ready to show myself."
Pity for her that precious few people are willing to watch her show herself.
