The trailer for Netflix’s new documentary about “social media disruptors” dropped Friday morning, just in time to give you a preview of what you’ll see if you decide to watch “The American Meme” tonight — as the 98-minute film launched on the streamer, too.
Here’s the official synopsis for the flick, which debuted at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival:
With support from social media moguls DJ Khaled, Hailey Baldwin and Emily Ratajkowski, The American Meme explores the journeys of four distinct social media disruptors, Paris Hilton (@parishilton), Josh Ostrovsky (@TheFatJewish), Brittany Furlan (@brittanyfurlan) and Kirill Bichutsky (@slutwhisperer), as they hustle to build empires out of their online footprints, redefining the paradigm for the American Dream. Premiered at 2018 Tribeca Film Festival.
The film features Hilton, Ostrovsky, Furlan, Bichutsky, DJ Khaled, Baldwin and Ratajkowski.
“The American Meme” was written and directed by Bert Marcus and produced by Marcus and Cassandra Hamar.
