"Paranormal Activity 5" will spook people en masse starting Oct. 25, 2013, when the film is released wide, a spokeswoman for Paramount Pictures told TheWrap Wednesday.
Jason Blum, who produced the previous installments of the horror series, will be back to produce the fifth installment, which employs a "found footage" aesthetic a la "The Blair Witch Project" to conjure up chills.

"Paranormal Activity 4," which was released Oct. 19 of this year, has taken in a little more than $135 million worldwide so far, according to Box Office Mojo — so far, the poorest showing for the franchise (though, with a $5 million production budget, it's no doubt proved profitable). "Paranormal Activity 3," released in 2011, amassed $207 million at the box office.
