"Paradise," from Seth Grahame-Smith and Greg Berlanti, has a put pilot commitment from NBC.
The show is set in 21st century Las Vegas, which is now the world’s largest maximum-security prison, Paradise.
Dr. Matthew Turner, an inmate convicted of a murder he didn't commit, is desperate to get back to his family by doing what no one has ever done: escape.
The put pilot commitment means NBC will pay a penalty if it doesn't air the pilot.
Berlanti (pictured) is the executive producer of "Arrow" and "Political Animals," and Grahame-Smith wrote "Dark Shadows" and "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."
