PaidContent Books Gaspin, Sarandos for Nov. 7 Conference

Digital-media-on-digital-media site’s “Battle For the Digital Home” part of an increasingly hectic Hollywood-conference schedule

You gotta wonder, with all the digital-revolution-themed conferences going on Hollywood right now, when do the so-called "game-changers" actually have time to alter the course of the future?

The latest event rolls out Monday, Nov. 7 in West Hollywood, with digital-media-news site PaidContent kicking off its daylong "Battle for the Digital Home."

Speakers include NBC-Universal TV Entertainment chairman Jeff Gaspin, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos and Roku president and COO David Krall, among about a dozen other folks who move and shake stuff.

Non-early-bird registration price: $995.

With myriad media-focused news outlets — including TheWrap, which produced September's "The Grill" — seeking to supplement advertising revenue by establishing live-events businesses, the Hollywood conferences market is heating up fast.

Two days after PaidContent's conference, Variety will roll out its "Future of Film Summit," which will be headlined by DreamWorks CEO and co-chair Stacey Snider, along with a cavalcade of B-list movie-business executives.

In early December, the struggling trade has four more events lined up, including "The Power of Comedy" (Dec. 4), the "Home Entertainment Hall of Fame Awards" (Dec. 6), the "L.A. Mobile Entertainment Summit" (Dec. 7-8) and the "Entertainment Content Protection Summit" (Dec. 8).

The fast-evolving Hollywood Reporter, meanwhile, has also announced that B-to-B events will be part of its emerging business strategy.
