“Fast and Furious” franchise star Paul Walker is the subject of a new documentary from Paramount Network and Network Entertainment. And the first trailer for it has debuted.
The new footage features videos of the actor, dating back to his childhood, as well as excerpts from interviews with Walker’s friends and family.
“He liked to go fast,” recalled his sister, Ashlie Walker. “As soon as I was old enough to hang on tight, I was on the back of his big wheel with him going for the ride of my life.”
“Fast and the Furious” co-star Tyrese Gibson said, “If you loved him the way we did, you would say, well, ‘why him and not us?’”
“I can actually say he did a lot of things that made a difference in a lot of people’s lives, you know?” said his uncle, Rhett Walker. “He was a giver.”
In 2013, Walker died in a car crash at the age of 40. The last “Fast and Furious” film the actor starred in, “Furious 7,” paid tribute to him with the song, “See You Again.”
Paramount said the film “explores Paul’s private side alongside a wildly successful film career.”
“I Am Paul Walker” will premiere Saturday Aug. 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Paramount Network.
