Starz and Sony Pictures Television teased the sophomore season of “Outlander” with a gag reel and a new image of the central couple in 18th-century France.
Outtakes from the freshman season reveal the cast of “Outlander” breaking character on different occasions, whether it’s due to laughing fits, hungry goats or airplanes flying overhead.
Season two of “Outlander” opens with Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) continuing their quest to prevent the extinction of Scottish life.
They arrive in France determined to infiltrate Prince Charles Stuart’s Jacobite rebellion and stop the battle of Culloden. The pair meet up with Jared, Jamie’s cousin who works as a local wine merchant, and are introduced to the rich and famous of French society.
“Outlander,” based on the best-selling book series by Diana Gabaldon, was created by Ronald D. Moore.
The image and behind-the-scenes video were screened Saturday at Comic-Con San Diego.
“Outlander” will return to Starz in 2016.
