Oscars: Karen O Teams Up with Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig to Sing ‘The Moon Song’ (Video)

Watch the duo perform the nominee for Best Original Song from “Her”

Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary, and Karen O’s performance of “The Moon Song” at the Oscars was no exception.

The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s frontwoman teamed up with Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig on Sunday to sing the acoustic hit she co-wrote with director Spike Jonze for “Her.”

It wasn’t the first time the two partnered to play the song, either. The studio version of their duet was released earlier this month.

The simple love song — which Joaquin Phoenix sung with Scarlett Johansson in the Best Picture nominee — scored O and Jonze a nomination for Best Original Song.

Since the performance was less than 2 minutes long, it’s possible some viewers missed it during a bathroom break or trip to the kitchen to stock up on more snacks.

If that’s you, then don’t miss the intimate jam session (above).
