It was a historic night for women of color at the 2023 Oscars. Michelle Yeoh because the first Asian woman to win Best Actress and only the second woman of color in history. She was awarded the prize by the first woman of color to win Best Actress — Halle Berry. “Wakanda Forever” costumer Ruth Carter because the first Black woman to have a repeat victory.
