The 2023 Oscar red carpet – even though the carpet was technically “champagne” hued – was as colorful as it was filled by the grandest array of gowns and tuxes the Academy Awards have seen in years. Old Hollywood is back, baby! The Oscars had a few rough years, it’s true. But 2023’s show and looks are a huge improvement upon from the pandemic years. From diamond choker necklaces to corset gowns to odd-for-Oscar’s orange gowns – the looks were diverse, detailed – and divine. Trends include ruched gowns, asymmetrical sleeves – and a lot of lingerie looks.
