Adam Levine and Maroon 5 performed “Lost Stars” at Sunday’s big award show, the Oscar-nominated song from “Begin Again.”
While the band was mostly obscured in the background during the rendition on stage, the packed house at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood still gave the performance a standing ovation.
NBC’s “The Voice” coach stars alongside Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo in the film, who were both nominated this year for their work in “The Imitation Game” and “Foxcatcher,” respectively.
The John Carney musical drama tracks Dave (Levine) and Gretta (Knightley) as they struggle to keep their romance afloat after moving to New York so he can develop his musical career.
“Lost Stars” was written by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois.
This year’s other Oscar-nominated songs include “Everything Is Awesome” from “The Lego Movie,” “Glory” from “Selma,” “Grateful” from “Beyond the Lights” and “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” from “Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me.”
