Optimus Prime Is Front and Center in Explosive New ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Trailer (Video)

Anthony Hopkins narrates latest promo for Michael Bay movie

The new “Transformers: The Last Knight” trailer finally puts Optimus Prime front and center as he wages war against his fellow Autobots.

“Optimus Prime, you have destroyed your home… do you seek redemption?” Optimus is asked while chained up in a ship in space.

“My maker, I do,” he responds.

The new trailer focuses on the history of the Autobots, showing them fighting along the knights of a round table during the medieval times.

“It started as a legend, one of the greatest of all. A thousand years we kept it hidden to protect earth from what was destined to arrive,” Anthony Hopkins’ character explains in a voiceover. “The destruction of everything we know and love begins.”

While we still don’t know what made Optimus Prime turn on his friends, it becomes clear that he is out to destroy earth: “For my world to live, yours must die.”

As for the human side of the equation, Mark Wahlberg is reprising his role as engineer Cade Yaeger from “Age of Extinction,” as is Stanley Tucci as tech industrialist Joshua Joyce. They’re joined by Hopkins, whose narration features heavily in the teaser.

There are a few returning cast members from earlier movies as well: John Turturro as Agent Simmons, Josh Duhamel as Lt. Col. William Lennox and Tyrese Gibson as Air Force Tech Sergeant Epps. Other cast members include Isabela Moner, Gemma Chan and Laura Haddock.

Directed by Michael Bay, the film will hit theaters on June 23.
