Last night on the “Daily Show,” Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert announced that their dueling D.C. rallies — the “Rally to Restore Sanity” and “March to Keep Fear Alive” — would be combined as the “Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear.”
"You didn't get a rally permit did you?" Stewart asked Colbert when he stopped by the "Daily Show" taping. (Perhaps it was that pesky permit process that convinced them to make it a single event — not that it wasn’t going to be one anyway.)
Then, as Comedy Central's own blog notes, things got “pretty bananas.”
It was like it was directed by M. Night Shyamalan. And by that, I don't mean it had a discomforting water nymph and plants that make you kill yourself (sounds like my honeymoon!), but rather it was packed with unexpected twists. First Stephen Colbert came on, then he and Jon merged the March and Rally into a single Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. And then, just when you thought things couldn't get anymore nuts, Oprah showed up. And they were all dead the whole time!
