According to poll numbers from Monday, Obama now enjoys a 56 percent approval rating, compared to the last such poll on April 17, which had him at 47 percent approval. (That number marked the lowest approval rating for Obama in a Washington Post-ABC poll since his January 2009 inauguration.)

Conversely, the Chief Executive's disapproval rating dropped from 50 percent on April 17 to 38 percent on Monday. The number of people who strongly disapproved of the president had a particularly steep decline, dropping from 37 percent last month to 24 percent.

Those who had no opinion Obama rose slightly from April, inching up from 3 percent to 6 percent.
