David Letterman is making his Netflix debut this Friday with “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman,” and the first episode includes Barack Obama telling the story of when he danced with the late rocker Prince.
“This was probably three or four months before he died, and Prince asked Sasha to come up and dance,” Obama said in a clip released Wednesday. He said that his youngest daughter then pulled him up to join in, which surprised him “because she always mocks my dancing.”
“I have dad moves,” Obama said in the clip, giving hope to all dads out there trying to bust a move.
Here’s how to avoid embarrassment, dads: “I think the key is what we call staying in the pocket,” the former POTUS explained. “You gotta stay in the pocket, because I think everybody here knows dads who get out of the pocket. And they’re trying stuff that they can’t really pull off.”
You know, like, “karate kicks and all kinds of stuff — is that one of the things you do?” he asked Letterman.
