NY Times Trumpeting Its Long-Form Journalism

Editors will pick their favorites each week

The New York Times is now giving non-subscribers more bang for their (non) buck. Starting today, Times editors are compiling a weekly list of the paper’s best long-form stories – dubbed the “Long Story Shortlist” – and posting them on The 6th Floor, the blog for the paper's Sunday magazine.

So for those who can only access those 20 stories, at least several of them may now be longer reads.

This week’s selection includes five stories from the past week and one from the archives – the Times Magazine’s story on the News of the World phone-hacking from last September.

Among the new stories are the obituary of artist Cy Twombly and an Anthony Weiner-inspired story on infidelity.
