Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is packing up her beach bag and leaving “Jersey Shore.”
The long-time cast member announced her retirement on Friday’s episode of her podcast “It’s Happening With Snooki & Joey,” which she hosts with Joey Camasta.
“You do a drum roll first while I chug my wine because I can’t believe I’m saying this. I’m gonna throw up. You guys, I love you so much and don’t hate me for my decision, but I have to do what’s best for me. And at the moment, I am retiring from Jersey Shore,” Polizzi said on the show.
“I am not coming back for ‘Jersey Shore’ Season 4, if there is one,” she continued. “The main reason is I just can’t do it anymore. Like literally, leaving my kids to film it is really hard on me. Joe knows, I try and quit every single day. The poor producers are like, ‘Dude, are you gonna quit this time?’ I quit every single time we film because I just hate being away from the kids. I don’t like partying like three days in a row. It’s just not my life anymore. And I want to be home with the kids.”
Reps for 495 Productions and MTV did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
“Jersey Shore” premiered on MTV in 2009 and aired until 2012.
The series returned as “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” in 2018.
