David E. Kelley’s limited series adaptation of “Big Little Lies” starring Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon has been picked up by HBO.
Witherspoon’s production company Pacific Standard, along with Kidman’s Blossom Films production banner had optioned the film and TV rights to the New York Times best-selling novel from Australian author Liane Moriarty last year.
“Big Little Lies” follows three mothers of kindergartners, whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.
Pacific Standard partner Bruna Papandrea and Blossom partner Per Saari will also produce, as well as Moriarty.
Pacific Standard, Blossom and Kelley are represented by CAA. LBI manages Witherspoon.
