Nickelodeon Star Jack Griffo Joins Ian Ziering, Tara Reid in ‘Sharknado 3’

Those darn sharks are still hungry, as Syfy will air another sequel this July

Nickelodeon star Jack Griffo is joining Ian Ziering and Tara Reid in Syfy’s “Sharknado 3,” the rising young star revealed on Twitter.

Produced by The Asylum, the TV movie stars Ziering as the appropriately named Fin and Reid as his ex-wife April.

“Sharknado 3” follows killer sharks as they strike from Washington D.C. to Orlando, and Griffo will play Billy, the boyfriend of Ian Ziering‘s daughter, who will be played by Ryan Newman. TheWrap’s shark sources describe the young actor as “potentially delicious.”

Anthony C. Ferrante returns to direct from a script by Thunder Levin, and Syfy will air the sequel in July.

Last summer, “Sharknado 2: The Second One” became Syfy’s biggest original movie ever with 3.9 million total viewers. That followed the July 2013 premiere of the original “Sharknado,” which became an instant social media sensation.

Griffo stars on Nickelodeon’s “The Thundermans” and his previous feature credits include Zal Batmanglij’s “Sound of My Voice,” in which he played a younger version of Christopher Denham’s character. He was recently cast in the indie movie “Those Left Behind.”

Griffo is represented by Alchemy Entertainment and AEFH.
