"About a Boy" actor Nicholas Hoult will star in Summit Entertainment's zombie movie "Warm Bodies," the studio announced Tuesday.
Jonathan Levine will direct the movie, based on Isaac Marion's book. The director adapted the film, as well.
The film is about a zombie named "R" (played by Hoult), who sparks a friendship with the girlfriend of one of his victims, triggering a chain reaction that could transform the world.
Bruna Papanadrea is producing.
Production is scheduled to begin this summer.
Hoult will appear in "X-Men: First Class" this summer and is about to start shooting Bryan Singer's take on the "Jack and the Beanstalk" story, the big-budget "Jack the Giant Killer," for Warner Bros. He also is attached to star with Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in another Warner Bros. movie, "Fury Road."
He has appeared in the 2010 "Clash of the Titans", the 2009 "A Single Man" and the 2002 "About a Boy."
Erik Feig, Summit's President of Production, and Summit's VP of production, Gillian Bohrer, will oversee the project for the studio.
Hoult is represented by UTA and UK-based Independent.
