“The Big Bang Theory” made another big splash this season, but TV’s top comedy failed to tackle football.
With an 8.0 average Live + 7 Day rating in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic, NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” topped the CBS sitcom by a full 1.6 ratings points.

In third place was more NBC football, with the network’s pregame show averaging a 5.6. Fox’s “The OT,” its postgame football show, was fourth with a 5.3. Any actual game runover numbers would not be counted in the dedicated recap show.
“The Voice” and “Modern Family” each averaged a 4.6 in the demo, tying for fifth.
