News Corp Names William Lewis as CEO of Dow Jones

The executive has been acting as interim chief since January

William Lewis has been appointed as chief executive officer of Dow Jones, effective immediately. The company made the announcement on Thursday.

Lewis, News Corp’s former chief creative officer, was named interim CEO of Dow Jones in January.

With Lewis as CEO, the real-time financial news organization has reinforced its emphasis on institutional products, customer relations and feedback. Most recently, Dow Jones rolled out multiple enhancements to the flagship Factiva information product.

“Will Lewis has brought focus and energy to the task at Dow Jones, which has refined its institutional products and reconnected with core clients,” News Corp CEO Robert Thomson said in a statement. “He has also brought extra vigor to The Wall Street Journal franchise, which is developing its digital strategy, an area in which Will has particular expertise. I am very confident in Will’s ability to grow the business in the months and years ahead.”
