Beware the ever-present hot mic. Local news anchor Matt Pieper, who reports for Cablevision’s News 12 The Bronx, was caught live on air in a profanity-laced rant about parents and people on government assistance.
During a segment about school crossing guards, Pieper, clearly thinking the show had been sent to commercial, began to banter with his colleagues, saying, “And Dave wants you to also mention that parents do their fucking jobs and walk their little kids to school on their own and not rely on everyone else.”

It only got worse from there. “Kind of like people rely on government assistance for their entire lives,” Pieper added.
The segment was captured on camera by viewers at home and has gone viral, prompting News 12 The Bronx to apologize and distance the organization from Pieper’s remarks.
