ESPN will launch a new “SportsCenter” show that will stream exclusively on Disney+.
“SC+,” streaming daily on Disney+, will bring the top sports news, insights and commentaries to fans, serving as a “fast-paced update … in a more concise and streamlined format,” per ESPN. The show will launch March 3 on Disney+ and will be available for U.S. Disney+ subscribers to stream everyday.
The show will livestream on weekday mornings at 9 a.m. ET, with each day’s show available to stream on Disney+ for the next 24 hours. Gary Striewski and Randy Scott will host “SC+” on weekdays while continuing to anchor the 7 a.m. ET edition of “SportsCenter” on ESPN. On the weekends, Hannah Storm and Jay Harris will host “SC+” along with their “SportsCenter: AM” program.
The new show will be based on the “SC Top 10” daily countdown of sports moments, which summarizes the day’s most important sports news stories alongside commentary from the ESPN reporters.
“It’s an absolute honor to take one of ESPN’s most-prestigious and
historic brands in ‘SportsCenter’ and infuse it with the energy and
creativity afforded by Disney+,” SVP of studio and entertainment Mike Foss said in a statement. “‘SC+’ endeavors to tell the best stories in sports daily in an unforgettable way. This fresh approach, combined with the expansive reach of Disney+, will resonate whether you are an ardent sports fan or looking for something new after your latest series binge.”
“ESPN has long defined excellence in sports programming, and now
Disney+ subscribers will have daily access to the most exciting sports
news, moments and stories,” Disney+ president Alisa Bowen said.
The new show expands ESPN’s offerings on Disney+, with Disney+ subscribers already having access to content from across ESPN+ and Hulu, including live sports events, studio shows and ESPN originals.
