The new Iron Man trailer is here — thanks for the heads-up, @Jon_Favreau — and it is, of course, awesome.
It doesn’t tell us much we didn’t already know about the storyline, other than an alliance between baddies Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) and Mickey Rourke (Whiplash).
But the tech … oh, the tech.
Besides a closer look at the War Machine suit, we see that Tony Stark isn’t as helpless as we may have thought when Whiplash (Rourke) severs the billionaire’s race car with an electrified lash.
No — Stark has a trick up his sleeve as usual, in the form of a portable suit.
That’s right — in a nod to the old-school cartoons and comics, Stark pulls out the travel armor, which starts out suitcase-sized and forms to his body as he stands on the racetrack (and is just heavy enough to beat Whiplash in an on-track duel, we’ll go ahead and presume).
