In the latest trailer for Fox’s “Hitman: Agent 47,” the titular assassin played by Rupert Friend uses his genetically modified mind and body to unleash havoc on a host of bad guys.
47 finds himself in unfamiliar territory when he must protect a woman named Katia (Hannah Ware) from an evil corporation and its chairman (Zachary Quinto), who wants to create an army of Agents to do his bidding. 47 discovers that Katia was created in a lab just like him, and that her DNA may hold the secret to his own origins.
The film is based on the popular video game series that launched back in 2000. The series was previously adapted into the movie “Hitman” starring Timothy Olyphant in 2007. Aleksander Bach directed the new film, with Skip Woods and Michael Finch writing the screenplay.
“Hitman: Agent 47” hits theaters on Aug. 21.
