HBO released a new trailer for upcoming episodes of “Game of Thrones” Season 7 at the Hall H panel Friday at San Diego Comic-Con. The footage was leaked online Thursday night, and it looks like a meeting between Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) is coming soon.
In the footage, Jon Snow tells the people of the North, “We can’t defeat the Night King’s army on our own. Daenerys has dragon fire.” Even though he’s warned not to trust a Targaryen, later we see Melisandre at Dragonstone. “I believe you have a role to play, as does another,” she tells the Khaleesi. Remember, Jon last banished Melisandre for killing the Princess Shireen Baratheon… but that doesn’t necessarily mean Melisandre doesn’t still believe in Jon’s right to rule.
The new King in the North must realize that since White Walkers and Wights can only be defeated using fire and Dragonglass — which Dragstone has a treasure trove of, as Sam discovered in the premiere episode — Dany is an alliance that must be made.
It looks like news of Dany’s return has reached King’s Landing, too. Cersei (Lena Headey) is seen telling Randyll Tarly (Sam’s father), “The mad king’s daughter will destroy the realm. We must stand together if we hope to stop her.”
There’s also a scene between Misandei and Grey Worm, where it seems they finally act on their feelings towards each other.
The description for Episode 2, “Stormborn,” released by HBO says “Deanerys (Emilia Clarke) receives an unexpected visitor.”
“Stormborn” airs on HBO on Sunday at 9 p.m. EST.
