“After working with Brenda on ‘New Girl’ and ‘Dads’ last season, we simply couldn’t let her go,” said Fox’s senior vice president of casting Tess Sanchez in a statement. “She’s one of the most talented, funny and authentic young actresses out there today. We’ve got an incredible development slate this year, with multiple roles for which Brenda would be the perfect fit, and we can’t wait to cast her in one of our upcoming pilots.”
Song has held recurring roles on Fox’s “New Girl,” ABC’s “Scandal,” and used to star on Disney Channel’s “Suite Life on Deck.” She is also the voice behind Veronica on Fox’s animated series “Dads.” Her movie credits include “The Social Network.”
