“New Girl” producers probably aren’t tossing much wedding rice this morning, as Tuesday’s second nuptials episode actually slipped from the first.
That said, 9 o’clock viewers are harder to attract than 8 p.m. eyeballs are, and both half-hours ticked up one-tenth of a Nielsen ratings point from last week.
CBS and NBC once again tied atop the key 18-49 demographic in primetime, as “NCIS” and “The Voice” both rose. CBS again easily topped total viewers.
Those two networks both averaged a 1.6 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary numbers. CBS was first in total viewers with 12 million, NBC was second with 8.3 million.
For CBS, “NCIS” at 8 p.m. ET scored a 2.0/8 and 15.7 million viewers. At 9, “NCIS: New Orleans” posted a 1.6/6 and 13 million viewers. “Person of Interest” at 10 received a 1.1/4 and 7.4 million viewers.
For NBC, “The Voice” at 8 p.m. ET earned a 1.8/7 and 8.9 million viewers. “Chicago Med” at 9 put up a 1.6/6 and 8 million viewers. At 10, “Chicago Fire” landed a 1.6/6 and 7.9 million viewers.
The CW was third in ratings with a 0.9/3 and fourth in viewers with 2.4 million. “The Flash” at 8 p.m. ET had a 1.3/5 and 3.5 million viewers. At 9, “Containment” got a 0.5/2 and 1.4 million viewers.
ABC and Fox tied for fourth in ratings, both with a 0.8/3. ABC was third in viewers with 2.8 million, Fox was fifth with 1.9 million.
For ABC, “Fresh Off the Boat” at 8 p.m. ET had a 0.9/4 and 3.9 million viewers. “The Real O’Neals” at 8:30 got a 0.9/3 and 3.2 million viewers. At 9, “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” received a 0.9/3 and 2.9 million viewers. At 10, “BattleBots: The Gears Awaken” premiered to a 0.6/2 and 2 million viewers.
For Fox, the night’s first “New Girl” at 8 p.m. ET had a 1.1/4 and 2.4 million viewers. At 8:30, the “Grandfathered” season finale got a 0.6/2 and 1.6 million viewers. The actual “New Girl” wedding at 9 received a 1.0/3 and 2.2 million viewers. At 9:30, the “Grinder” finale managed the same rounded numbers as “Grandfathered.”
Univision and Telemundo tied sixth in ratings, both with a 0.5/2. Univision was sixth in viewers with 1.5 million, Telemundo was seventh with 1.4 million.
