CBS didn’t need any season premieres to top Tuesday — it just needed NBC’s “The Voice” to go away. That said, having “NCIS” on its schedule doesn’t hurt the Les Moonves-helmed network, either.
NBC and its season opener for “Hollywood Game Night” finished second on the night. Fox edged ABC for third in the key 18-49 demographic, despite its “New Girl” season premiere hitting a new low.
ABC debuted “Shark Tank” aftershow “Beyond the Tank” as a series last night, settling for fourth in that main demo and third among total viewers.
CBS was first in ratings with a 2.1 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 14.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. “NCIS” at 8 p.m. earned a 2.6/9 and 18.7 million viewers. At 9, “NCIS: New Orleans” posted a 2.4/7 and 17 million viewers. At 10, “Limitless” had a 1.4/5 and 7.4 million viewers.
