“The authorities would tell us” are the famous last words uttered in the newest promo teasing an ominous future for the characters populating AMC zombie spinoff “Fear the Walking Dead.”
The prequel to “The Walking Dead” is set right at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse, and as the new clip shows, not everyone wants to jump to conclusions about what’s really going on.
In the video, we see Kim Dickens, who plays school guidance counselor Madison, as she tries to calm one of her student’s nerves over an unidentified outbreak in five states. But we already know who’s right in this situation, unfortunately for her and for all of mankind.
The new show, which will be set in Los Angeles, also stars Alycia Debnam-Carey, Frank Dillane, Rubén Blades, Mercedes Mason and Cliff Curtis.
Robert Kirkman, the writer of the comic book on which “The Walking Dead” is based and an executive producer on the original show, will serve as executive producer on “Fear the Walking Dead,” as well, along with executive producers Greg Nicotero, Gale Ann Hurd, and David Alpert.
“Fear the Walking Dead” premiers in August on AMC.
