The Wrap has partnered with Canvs, the emotion analytics company, for a weekly look at some of the characters and personalities that have TV viewers the most worked up on social media. The data below covers June 21-27 and is drawn from the most emotionally reacted-to television shows, including broadcast, cable, streaming and PPV.
The 2017 BET Awards received 882,520 Emotional Reactions (ERs), making it most reacted-to program in the last week. New Edition, winner of the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award, was the most-mentioned group/artist of the evening. The R&B group gave fans a dose of nostalgia during a performance that included cast members of the recent biopic miniseries covering their rise to fame. Viewers professed their love for the aging musicians, with many commenting about how “they still got it.”

Sasha Velour was not only the winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” on VH1 (28,112 ERs), she also was the most discussed queen of the evening. A fan favorite all season, the 30-year-old Brooklynite went head to head against Shea Couleé in a sudden death lip-sync contest and emerged victorious. For the most part people were thrilled, and the congratulatory messages flowed freely. Fans also, of course, commented on her look.
Sasha easily gave the greatest lip sync of all time #dragRace

It’s been a drama-filled week for ABC’s “The Bachelorette,” which aired episodes on Monday (22,110 ERs) and Tuesday (16,954 ERs) in a two-night event. Much of the conversation focused on the ongoing feud between contestants Lee Garrett and Kenny Layne. While Lee was most-mentioned during Monday night’s episode, Kenny had the most ERs on Tuesday; but it was Lee who had the most across both nights. Overall, viewers seemed a bit fed up with their childish antics, but when it came to reactions expressing dislike, Lee led across both nights. Fittingly, both were sent packing by this week’s conclusion.
I CAN'T STAND LEE CMON KENNY YOU'RE BETTER THAN THIS #TheBachelorette
