Netflix released the first full-length trailer for the upcoming series “Between” on Wednesday.
The show follows a pregnant teenager, played by Jennette McCurdy, living in the small town of Pretty Lake, which has been devastated by a disease that kills anyone over the age of 21.
In the trailer, the town’s population plummets as the disease spreads faster than anyone can comprehend. The government institutes a quarantine and leaves the inhabitants to fend for themselves.
“Between” was created by filmmaker Michael McGowan (“Still Mine,” “Saint Ralph”), who executive produces with Don Carmody, David Cormican and Naveen Prasad.
“Between” will be the first Netflix show released one episode per week, as opposed to the entire season at once. The release schedule is attributable to the fact that the show is a Canadian co-production, and Canada’s City network has the first air viewing rights.
The six episode, one-hour drama will be available for streaming on Netflix on May 21 at 8:30 p.m. PT, followed by every Thursday at 8:30 p.m. PT.
