How to Watch the Netflix Marvel Shows in Order

As with any Marvel property, they all have a place in the timeline

(Marvel)

With “Daredevil: Born Again” now streaming on Disney+, picking up the story of Netflix’s “Daredevil” almost seven years later, you might find yourself wanting to check out other corners of the Marvel world, as Netflix envisioned them. And, like the MCU, there is a correct order to do that in.

For the record, we’d say that you don’t have to watch “Daredevil” in order to understand “Born Again” (here’s why). But we definitely think you should, at least if you’re interested in Marvel’s no-kill superhero.

From there, you can meet his friends, who are introduced in the other Netflix Marvel shows. But there are a few ways you can go about it.

Netflix Marvel shows in release order

For the most part, the Netflix Marvel shows overlapped on the streamer, all coming out around the same time and ending their runs in 2018 (save for “The Punisher” and “Defenders” limited series).

But if you want to watch them in the correct order they released, going one full show at a time, that would be:

  • “Daredevil”
  • “Jessica Jones”
  • “Luke Cage”
  • “Iron Fist”
  • “The Defenders”
  • “The Punisher”

Netflix Marvel series in chronological order

Since the series all overlapped, the events that transpire in each season of each show do intersect with each other So, if you want to watch these shows and see the events in order as they happened in-universe, you would want to watch:

  • “Daredevil” season 1
  • “Jessica Jones” season 1
  • “Daredevil” season 2
  • “Luke Cage” season 1
  • “Iron Fist” season 1
  • “The Defenders”
  • “The Punisher” season 1
  • “Jessica Jones” season 2
  • “Luke Cage” season 2
  • “Iron Fist” season 2
  • “Daredevil” season 3
  • “The Punisher” season 2
  • “Jessica Jones” season 3

Though these shows were all originally made by Netflix, they are now available to stream on Disney+.
