NeNe Leakes to Make Broadway Debut in ‘Cinderella’

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star will take over from Sherri Shepherd on November 25

NeNe Leakes is set to join the cast of “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella” before the clock strikes midnight on the show.

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star is currently in rehearsals and will make her Broadway debut in the role of wicked stepmother, Madame, taking over from Sherri Shepherd, Leakes confirmed Wednesday on Twitter.

Former “The View” co-host Shepherd will perform the role from Sept. 9 through Nov. 22, before Leakes takes stage on November 25 for a limited run.

The production will play its final performance on Jan. 3, 2015, following a two-year run.

The reality star will join a cast that includes Paige Faure as Cinderella, Joe Carroll as Prince Topher, Nancy Opel as Madame, and Victoria Clark as the Fairy Godmother.

Leakes, 46, has previously appeared in “Glee” as recurring character Roz Washington, and “The New Normal,” as well as competing on “Celebrity Apprentice  4” and “Dancing With the Stars.” She also played the Mistress of Sensuality in the Las Vegas show Cirque du Soleil: Zumanity.

She celebrated her new gig on Twitter.
