And the winner of the 2015 Oscars is … Neil Patrick Harris.
The Hollywood accolades over the news that the actor will host the 87th annual Academy Awards poured out like a wave of Oscar speeches themselves with many of his fellow stars praising the choice on social media.

The “How I Met Your Mother” star used his own Twitter page to announce the honor by posting an adorable video of himself ticking off a bucket list of life goals, including “go bungee jumping,” “sleep in Cinderalla’s Castle,” “write a book,” and finally “host the Oscars.”
The four-time Tony Awards and two-time Emmys awards host’s famous friends soon followed suit and took to social media to offer their congratulations.
Late night darling Seth Meyers, who helmed the Emmys this year, tweeted congrats.

“The Soup” host Joel McHale typically made a joke about NPH’s new job.

Seth MacFarlane, who got mixed reviews for his 2012 Oscars hosting job, called Harris “uber-talented” and joked, “They could not have made a better choice, except Mickey Rourke.”

Show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron praised Harris on the official Oscars website soon after the news broke, saying: “We have known him his entire adult life, and we have watched him explode as a great performer in feature films, television and stage. To work with him on the Oscars is the perfect storm, all of his resources and talent coming together on a global stage.” Zadan went on to tweet his approval, saying he was “thrilled!”
