Comedian Neal Brennan dropped by “Late Night” on Tuesday night with an update on his friend, Tracy Morgan. The co-creator of “Chappelle’s Show” told Seth Meyers that he’d just spoken with Morgan on Monday and, “from what I can tell, he’s great.”

Brennan admitted that he couldn’t speak to the physical recovery of Morgan, who did tell him that he’s going to physical rehab every day, but he was confident that Morgan’s mental state was great.
“We were talking, and he was like, ‘Neal. I mean, the outpouring of love was unbelievable. I mean, the people that reached out to me: Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, the president,’” Brennan recalled. “The fact that Tracy put LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes above the president let’s me know that Tracy is back.”

Morgan is recovering from a vehicular accident on June 7. The limousine he was riding in after a stand-up engagement was struck by a Wal-Mart-owned tractor-trailer. Comedian James McNair was killed in the accident, while several other passengers in the limousine also suffered serious injuries.
