The show will, however, resolve her storyline before she departs for good.
“I’ve had eight great years with NCIS and Ziva David,” de Pablo said, adding that she has “huge respect and affection” for the “NCIS” team and the network. “I look forward to finishing Ziva’s story.”
CBS, meanwhile, said it respected the actress’ decision to leave the series, which drew 18.2 million total viewers with its most recent season finale in May.

“We respect Cote’s decision, thank her for being an important part of the ‘NCIS’ team, and for eight terrific years playing Ziva David,” the network noted. “Cote and CBS share a great respect for the ‘NCIS’ audience, and we look forward to working with her and the producers on appropriate closure in this chapter of Ziva’s story.”
“NCIS” returns for its 11th season on Sept. 24.
