NBC Replaces ‘Love Bites’ With ‘The Apprentice’ on Fall Schedule

Network gives no reason for decision to hold romantic comedy for midseason

NBC is pulling its new romantic comedy "Love Bites" from the fall schedule at 10 p.m. on Thursday and replacing it with a new edition of "The Apprentice."

No official reason was given for pulling the show, which was scheduled to anchor NBC's Thursday comedy night.

Putting in "The Apprentice" does not exactly add good flow leading out of four sitcoms from 8-10 p.m.

"Everyone at the network loves 'Love Bites,' but for a number of reasons it now makes sense to showcase the comedic anthology series a little later in the new season," Mitch Metcalf, the network's executive vice president for program planning and scheduling, said in a statement.

"We're extremely fortunate to have a potent show such as the new and contemporary version of Donald Trump's 'The Apprentice' ready to step into the slot and keep our Thursday lineup moving forward from a position of strength."

The new version of "The Apprentice" will give the opportunity to 16 contestants, some who have previously lost their jobs and others recent college graduates, to land a position in the Trump Organization.

The new season just finished shooting in New York City.

As part of the show, rewards for winning teams will include having the winning project managers meeting with some of the top business leaders and CEOs in America.

Joining Trump in the boardroom will be his son Donald Jr., daughter Ivanka and his longtime associate George Ross. There will also be a revolving-chair boardroom member for a different outside business executive each week.
