NBC has renewed "Chuck" for a final season and ordered to series Chelsea Handler's pilot and three comedies involving divorce: "Free Agents," starring Hank Azaria, "Bent" starring Amanda Peet, and "BFFs" from two Upright Citizens Brigade alums.
NBC ordered 13 episodes of "Chuck," a perennial bubble show with a dedicated fan following, but has no plans to order more.
Handler stars in "Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea," but not as herself: Laura Prepon plays a character based on Handler.
"Free Agents," based on a British series, looks at the attraction between two quirky co-workers on the rebound. Kathryn Hahn stars with Azaria.
In "Bent," Peet plays a about a recently divorced single mother who tries to resist the appeal of a surfer contractor she hires to renovate her kitchen.
"BFFs," written by and starring UCB's Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair, is about a woman and her live-in boyfriend who take in the woman's distraught and irritating best friend and her divorce.
Parham and St. Clair join a long list of Upright Citizens on NBC, including theater co-founder Amy Poehler ("Parks and Recreation"), Donald Glover ("Community"), Bobby Moynihan ("Saturday Night Live"), and Aubrey Plaza ("Parks and Rec").
