NBC has picked up "Brenda Forever," a single-camera comedy pilot executive produced by "Rescue Me" co-creator Peter Tolan.
The show intertwines the past and present to show how a chubby and awkward but incredibly confident 13-year-old grows up to be the 31-year-old woman she is today.

David Lampson and Andrew Leeds wrote and created the possible series, which is also being executive-produced by Michael Wilmer of Tolan's Fedora Entertainment.
Tolan, who also wrote the screenplay for the big-screen adaptation of "Baywatch," will have his hands full this year, as he and Wilmer developed two other projects that received pilot orders in January.
"Rake," a drama starring Greg Kinnear, was ordered to pilot at Fox, while CBS ordered an untitled Jim Gaffigan comedy from Fedora Entertainment to pilot.
