“True Detective” villain Glenn Fleshler has joined the cast of NBC’s Hannibal, a spokesperson for the network told TheWrap.

Fleshler will portray Cordell, the attentive and creepy doctor in Season 3. A character from Thomas Harris’ “Hannibal” novels, Cordell cares for the disfigured Mason Verger.

Fleshler recently portrayed the murderous and also-creepy Errol Childress, dubbed “The Spaghetti Monster” for his facial disfigurement, on Season 1 of HBO’s popular mystery anthology.

Here’s how the network describes Cordell:

The personal doctor to a disfigured Mason Verger, quiet, very intelligent, and definitely creepy. He is attentive and gentle with Mason, a professional who cares about his work but we get a sense he might be as sadistic as Mason Verger and a perfect fit to become his potential henchman

“Hannibal” has been beefing up its cast, with “Hobbit” star Richard Armitage set to portray serial killer Francis Dolarhyde, a.k.a “The Tooth Fairy.” Rutina Wesley, of “True Blood,” signed on for the role of Reba McClane, a blind woman who is Dolarhyde’s last chance at humanity.

The show also replaced “Boardwalk Empire” actor Michael Pitt with Joe Anderson for Verger’s role.

Created by Bryan Fuller and produced by the Dino De Laurentiis Company, the series also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy, Laurence Fishburne and Gillian Anderson.

Fleshler is repped by The Gersh Agency and Suskin Management.
