NBC will air a “truncated” version of “The Tonight Show” during the Winter Olympics, the network announced on Thursday.
Dubbed “The Fallon 5,” the five-minute version of the late-night talk show will air the week of Feb. 19 following NBC’s primetime coverage of the games. According to the network, the segments will consist of “a combination of monologues, comedy segments and/or interviews from the show’s home studio in 30 Rockefeller Center in New York.”
Once the Olympics get underway, Fallon’s usual 11:30 timeslot will be held by coverage of the games.
Held this year in PyeongChang, South Korea, the 2018 Winter Olympic games are scheduled to begin Friday and will run through Sunday, Feb. 25. “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” will air a full episode tonight at 12:05 a.m. ET and 12:35 a.m. PT. Friday’s episode is scheduled to air in its regular 11:35 p.m. ET/PT timeslot.
